Why heli-ski with Valdez Heli-Ski Guides?

Will we fly from the Tsaina lodge?
How experienced are your guides?
All VHSG lead guides have at least 10 years-experience as heli-ski guides.
Can I rent ski or snowboard equipment?
We provide demo skis, ski poles and snowboards.
How do I get there?
There are daily flights to the Valdez airport. We will pick you up upon arrival and drive you to the Totem Hotel and Suites in Valdez or Tsaina Lodge, 35 miles into the mountains from Valdez.
Do I have to be an expert skier or snowboarder?
Anyone who can comfortably ski at a major ski resort, can comfortably ski and have a great time with VHSG.
How is helicopter flight time calculated?
VHSG helicopters are installed with Hobbs meters which only register when the helicopter is flying. Time the helicopter is on the ground, even if it’s engine is running, does not register on the Hobbs meter.
What are the accommodations like?
The Tsaina Lodge is one of the newest and nicest heli-ski lodges in North America. All guests have private rooms with Tempur-Pedic beds, private bathrooms and daily laundry service. The Tsaina ski-village après-ski is also legendary, the fun continues after the ski day is done. For Traditional Package clients, the Totem Hotel & Suites is the nicest lodging in Valdez, offering many amenities. It is a 40-minute beautiful shuttle drive up into the mountains from the Totem to the Tsaina Lodge helipad.
Valdez Heli-Ski Guides is a member of HeliSki US, an association representing the finest helicopter skiing operators in the United States and establishing the highest safety and operating standards in the industry.
